Intramurals
Chilliwack Middle School’s lunchtime intramural sports program promotes a healthy lifestyle for students, by providing a variety of athletic activities in which all persons can participate regardless of their degree of athletic ability. The successful of our IM program depends heavily on student involvement. Students are encouraged to connect with their friends and classmates, and design teams to compete in tournaments held throughout the year. If a student does not care to participate in team sports, individualize sporting competitions are also available. At the end of each term, championship teams and individuals are publicly recognized at the CMS Success Assemblies. Some of the competitions that run throughout the year are:
- Floor Hockey
- Indoor Soccer
- 3-on-3 Basketball
- Team Handball
- Arm Wrestling
- Badminton
- Flag Football
- Sumo Wrestling
- Free Throw Contest
On non-competitive days there is open gym where students can come and play basketball or just hang out with friends. Students may also choose to borrow sports equipment from the equipment sign-out room. This equipment must be taken outside and gives students a chance to be active while getting some fresh air. The equipment sign-out room is available to students, everyday throughout the year.
