In addressing the needs of our students, the Chilliwack School District is inviting staff, students, parents, community and partners to provide feedback for a possible school reconfiguration through participation in a survey.
Our interest in examining school configuration is first and foremost driven by a desire to create the best learning environment for our students. A secondary consideration is the growth in our student population and our need to make a determination of our future new school. More information is provided in the survey.
Inclement weather conditions such as freezing rain, significant snowfall or high wind can occur during the fall and winter months. In such conditions, decisions on the opening or closure of school district facilities are made by the Superintendent of Schools in consultation with management and supervisory staff who have checked first-hand on the driving conditions and general condition of buildings. We are happy to announce that our goal of providing students with safe bicycle, skateboard, and scooter storage during the school day is now complete. We now have TWO secure locking storage containers located at the back of our campus. These containers are located right behind our basketball court and in clear view of the school. The containers will be open from 8:00am - 8:30am for students to load in their personal transportation of choice, will then be locked during the school day, and then opened again from 2:33pm - 3:03pm so that students can pick-up their bikes, skateboards, or scooters for the ride home. If students arrive to school early or late and find the storage bins locked, we ask them to please come to the office with their bike, skateboard, or scooter. We will then unlock the storage bin for them so their items will remain safe during the school day.
If you want to stay up-to-date with all that is happening at CMS, please take a moment to read through our weekly newsletter, the Chargers Update. We will be sending out the Chargers Update to all of our parents via email each week. If you do not receive the newsletter over the weekend, please contact our office on Monday to update your contact email address. We will also post a copy of the Chargers Update under the Weekly Newsletter tab on the left-side menu of this website.
Paying fees at CMS has never been easier. You can now pay your fees online without having to come down to the school. You don't even have to leave your home! Click on the "Pay SD33 Fees Online" icon in the top right corner of this page to pay your fees now.
To ensure the safety of all students at Chilliwack Middle School, all visitors MUST enter through our Yale Rd or Charles St. entrance gates, and sign-in at the Main Office. During school hours, all school visitors must have pre-approval from our Principal or Vice-Principal and must wear a CMS Visitors' Pass.
As our student's education is our primary concern, we do not interrupt their classes to deliver messages or drop off items to them. Please make arrangements with your child prior to the school day whenever possible. If you wish to drop something off for your child, items can be left with the staff in our Main Office and students will be called down for pick-up during lunch break or afterschool.
