The Chilliwack Junior High School came into existence as a separate unit in September 1950, with the first principal being Mr. H.K. Manuel. Prior to that date the buildings housed the combined Chilliwack Junior-Senior High School. With the construction of the present Senior High School in that year it was possible to organize a junior high school to serve all of the pupils of Grades Seven and Eight of School District #33. The old school is comprised of three buildings - a brick and cement structure built in 1912, a frame gymnasium in 1929, and a stuccoed frame unit in 1938. In 1997 this school was replaced with a modern Middle School.
